                                                           Main projects of our collaboration

The NICA accelerator at JINR is a large scientific facility that can accelerate protons, light nuclei and heavy nuclei to 11 GeV energy for fixed target and collision nuclear physics experiments. The main physics is to study the phase transition between the hadron state of nuclear matter and the quark gluon plasma and study the critical point of phase transition of nuclear matter. NICA/MPD experiment will be working at very high baryon density and many important phenomenon will be seen in the future. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the NICA related accelerator, physics and detectors. We will also discuss the status and the future development of the cooperation between JINR and several Chinese institutions within the framework of the NICA megaproject. The topics discussed were related to the following Collaborations and corresponding projects:

  • NICA MPD: ITS, ECal and ToF
  • NICA Collider: Accelerator and Energy Storage
  • NICA SPD: ToF, ECal
